Can't mount ext3 filesystem

I haven't checked it _now_ (but IIRC we did check it before releasing 2.8.4),
but I just checked the fai-kernels 2.4-config and it includes
CONFIG_EXT3_FS=y
CONFIG_EXT2_FS=y
So I think your problem must have a different cause.
