I've packaged up fai-bootcd and it's available from this apt source:
deb http://holbytla.org/fai/debian woody main
All package dependencies that I know of are there, patches to fai
2.3.1's install_packages (adding -l flag available in newer versions)
and mkinitrd-cd's linuxrc (scsi fix) are available and you are asked
if you want to patch them with debconf.
I've still got a lot of work to do, this package is only aimed at fai
2.3.1, but I really need feedback on this so if you've been thinking about
trying it please give it a go. Once it works cleanly with fai 2.3.1 I'll
move onto supporting >=2.4.1 and try to get it into testing, then I'll
move onto building bootable, live CDs ala Knoppix from FAI classes.
Documentation is available in /usr/share/doc/fai-bootcd/ - read it and
have a go, if you get stuck or discover a bug just email me.

extended to 30 days to bring it in line with other months."
