Hi there,
even there's only a minor release change, some important things have
changes in FAI. FAI is splitted into two packages. The package
fai-kernel contains the two install kernels and is approx. 10MB big
and will not change very frequently. The package fai is now a small
file which only contains the scripts and templates. First install the
package fai-kernels, fai.
I made changes to the organisation of directory class/ and the
scripts. I hope it's now clearer how it works and easier to use.
There was not much effort to extend the manuals. But it's still in
progress.
Sometimes dpkg gets a segmentation fault. For me, this happens only if
I used the class DEBIAN_DEVEL, so this class is disabled by default.
Now get your new version from
http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/
and please report any bugs or comments.
changelog:
fai (1.4.1) unstable; urgency=low
* swap order of class ALL and hostname
* CLASS ALL renamed to DEFAULT
* templates/class/S*.source files renamed
* scripts in class/ reorganized. First *.{sh,pl) are executed, then
$class.source are sourced for all defined classes
* install kernels removed, now included in package fai-kernels
* hdparm available in nfsroot, sysinfo prints hparm -i
* classs/ATA33.source can tune harddisk during installation
* class DEBIAN_DEVEL commented out, because this software package list
mostly segfaults dpkg
* base?_?.tgz now included in nfsroot; BASETGZ not needed any more
* bug fixed: setup_harddisk don't mount preserved partitions if mount
point is not in root directory
* bug fixed: no dns support during chroot in make-fai-nfsroot
