What you said made me look around a little. I see dbus is included in STANDARD however this is not called. I added STANDARD to the Classes line of the Simple profile within the example.profile and dbus gets installed : ).
I'm still unsure how to have the hostname set correctly, it keeps getting installed as localhost.
This is probably due to my lack of understanding around what I need to do within my environment where the dhcp/dns is external.
nslookup against the IP gives provides the fqdn so I assumed that would provide the magic needed.
I have tried creating an entry in /etc/hosts on the fai server for my test client but that doesn't help to set the machines name when built.
How are hostnames controlled/set when using autodiscover?
