FAI 3.4.7 vs. 3.4.8 (was: LVM is "inactive" on first reboot after installation)

I am using FAI 3.4.7, which is the default version for Debian 6. Were
there fixes regarding LVM in .8? There were a lot of changes, so it's hard
to tell if this was one of them:
