as an example, the default ./package_config/XORG file is: 
PACKAGES aptitude
xorg xserver-xorg-video-all xserver-xorg-input-all
ttf-freefont
xscreensaver
xscreensaver-gl
xterm

changing the first line from "PACKAGES aptitude" to "PACKAGES
aptitude-r" should ensure that recommended dependencies of the listed
packages are also installed.
