pdiffs are differential updates to the package database. If you intend to
update your mirror on a daily base then you should keep these activated.
However if you intend to update you mirror maybe only once a month then
deactivating these could result in faster processing.

Think of pdiffs as applying patches to your local repository information
instead of refetching Release.gz with every apt-get update.


Normally you'd (de)activate pdiffs via apt-conf. I don't know if
mkdebmirror honors this file or not.
