Latest initramfs-tools from FAI repo breaks Ubuntu

There's a new live-initramfs package since apr/1 and a new
initramfs-tools appeared a few days later in the FAI repository.

Mmmm. I do not have a init-top/brltty script in my nfsroot (Debian
lenny), but I'm pretty sure that grep is availabe via the busybox tool.
