Documentation of custom kernel use

I'm using the fai that comes with lenny.

I noticed that the wiki page:

is out of date (i.e. it uses deprecated variables that don't work).  Can someone point me to some more up to date instructions on using a custom kernel in FAI? I'm thinking that /etc/fai/NFSROOT has something to do with it, but I can't find any documentation on that file either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
