Debian lenny with etch chrooted. Fai-setup fails

No, FAI would run fine on lenny as well, but actually the current packages
involve a hack to make it run on etch, because we need several packages from
lenny anyway: Please check the contents of /etc/fai/apt/sources.list, change it
some apropriate Debian/testing mirror, then you should be fine.

Judging from your logs it seems that you forgot to mount /proc into the chroot.
But anyway I'd suggest editing /etc/fai/apt/sources.list to go for a complete
lenny system.
