  $fstab is also fstab, for example with constructs like $LOGDIR/$fstab.
Anyway, I am trying to understand how come that when I ssh to the machine
which is being installed I get
  # env | grep fstab
  fstab=fstab
  #
while a hook like partition can't get that. I mean, where, in the code, fstab is not
part of a hook's environment?
