Hi ppl I have using fai version 2.6.5 and i cant get my new system to boot

i allways get a kernel panic 

kernel panic: VFS: unable to mount root fs on 03

im stuck

The kernel that i am using is 2.4.27-2-686-smp
the boot loader is grub
