Has anyone experienced a problem with the make-fai-nfsroot process like this?

When I issue the command make-fai-nfsroot it appears to start building the nfsroot tree then dies. See below:

Other details:
FAI version 2.5.2
Local mirror from which I have built several systems.
Minimal install of Debian stable with security updates (bf2.4 install) and just the required packages for fai as listed in the doco.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Andrew.
