I've got a bizarre problem - installation process if I add some more
packages to install hangs after /etc/init.d/rcS script runs
install_packages

+ install_packages
+ tee -a /tmp/fai/software.log
/usr/sbin/install_packages: read config file /fai/package_config/DEFAULT
....
Setting up sip (3.5-3) ...
Setting up octave2.0-staticlibs (2.0.17-7) ...
/usr/sbin/install_packages: is executing chroot /tmp/target dpkg
--configure --pending
/usr/sbin/install_packages: is executing chroot /tmp/target dpkg -C
/usr/sbin/install_packages: is executing chroot /tmp/target apt-get clean

and then without coming back to conciness it hangs
...
root 18 17 0 15:17 tty1 S 0:00 \_ /bin/bash /etc/init.d/rcS
root 39 18 0 15:17 tty1 S 0:00 \_ cat /proc/kmsg
root 165 18 0 15:17 tty1 S 0:00 \_ /bin/bash /etc/init.d/rcS
root 166 165 0 15:17 tty1 S 0:00 \_ /bin/bash /etc/init.d/rcS
root 167 166 0 15:17 tty1 S 0:00 | \_ tee
-a /tmp/fai/rcS.log
root 273 165 0 15:18 tty1 S 0:00 \_ tee -a /tmp/fai/software.log

with tee hanging in the back. Killing corresponding tee seems to bring
it back to life....

/etc/init.d/rcS: line 138: 271 Broken pipe yes ''
       272 Done | install_packages 2>&1
       273 Terminated | tee -a $LOGDIR/software.log
+ unset task_instsoft

How to overcome that problem????? I'm running it on sarge debian
