The updatebase stuff mentionend below. Since errors in logfiles result
in reinstallation (at least in our setup ;) this is a "real" problem. I
mean, we _could_ modify our error-checking but better would be a real
solution.

I haven't looked at this and I would prefer if you could do this since
your more familar with it.

I don't want that. FAI-BootCD shall be used to install servers with our
configuration in our customers network. There we cannot rely on any
given network configuration, maybe we are not even allowed to use there
network. That's why I want/will (to) _disable_ network devices.
