SUMMARY: disk config's preserve option does not work

Hi!
I realized I posted question about preserve option for disk config under
title "Re: MD5 Support". (I wondered why there's no response :) I copied
the old post at the end.
As figured out from old posts it seems that preserve option does not work
when applied to logical partitions. So, to fix my partitioning scheme I
have to make partitions primary. This could be somewhat problematic in
some situations ((/ + /boot as primary) + 2 preserved + (1 or more)) but
for me the following should work:
disk_config hda
primary / 512 rw,errors=remount-ro ;ext2
primary /local preserve2 rw ;ext2
logical swap 1024 rw
logical /usr 6144 rw ;ext2
logical /tmp 8192 rw ;ext2
disk_config hdd
primary /.home preserve1 rw ;ext2
primary /local1 preserve2 rw ;ext2
logical /var 4096 rw ;ext2
logical swap 1024 rw
I hope I've put things right.
To sum up: preserve works only for primary partitions!

We have fai 2.3.1.
I can not get preserve option in disk_config to work. Is this known bug in
this version or have I done things wrong way?
root at l2:/usr/local/share/fai/disk_config# less 2HD80
# <type> <mountpoint> <size in mb> [mount options] [;extra options]
disk_config hda
primary / 512 rw,errors=remount-ro ;ext2
logical swap 1024 rw
logical /usr 6144 rw ;ext2
logical /local preserve7 rw ;ext2
logical /tmp 8192 rw ;ext2
disk_config hdd
primary /var 4096 rw ;ext2
logical swap 1024 rw
logical /.home preserve6 rw ;ext2
logical /local1 preserve7 rw ;ext2
