Solved: Package Installation Problem

Yes... :-)

But I already use a file in rcX.d for such a kind of things. It is more
tolerant than the (timed) cron approach.

I face also some other problems when installing all the Emacs packages (I
don't want to bias the user too much by removing some packages...), some
give the same service, such as AUCTeX and YaTeX. When loading a LaTeX file
I jump in YaTeX but by default I would prefer AUCTeX.

Since I guess it is not dealt with the Debian alternative concept I will
need to modify the Emacs config file to choose one or another mode...
