Sorry, I missed something. On your potato install server do the following:

add lines for unstable sources

/etc/apt/sources.list:
# unstable sources
deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian dists/proposed-updates/


then get sources build the package for potato and install it

> apt-get update
> apt-get source debootstrap
> cd debootstrap-0.1.15.8/
> /usr/bin/fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage
# dpkg -i ....

then recreate the nfsroot
