Please, look at the changelog file for any changes.

You've "upgraded" from an very early alpha version to first version
without alpha, beta or test. So there's no wonder that many things have
changed. There was much progress in FAI and I had to change some
things because some improvements could not be made without changes.
But from now on, things will not be changes so much in
future. Therefore /etc/fai.conf was introduced. The next FAI version
will include a new command (fcopy), that can easily copy files using
FAI_CLASSES. Therfore cfengine scripts will get much smaller, because
copy operation will be made using fcopy. This will also be some sort
of changes in your script, but it will be an improvement.
