Trying to share the exact same classes for different distros will have a
high probability to fail even for quite resembling versions/distro's -
package names can and will differ, locations of files you try to edit,
all that stuff.

I believe you should make up a naming scheme, for example prefix any
class ( or at least any that is specific to a distribution) with the
distribution name. This is not exactly how I'd like to see it, but FAI
has no mechanisms to store any meta data for the classes (yet), so you'd
need to abuse the class name.

Building an abstraction layer that can unify such things is something
very hard, if not impossible at all. I don't even think about doing this
yet - I'd be happy if only the current plans will be realized some day.
