GENERAL INFORMATION

Pacific Graphics 2001 (PG2001) will be held on October 16-18, 2001, in
Tokyo, JAPAN. Pacific Graphics (PG) is an annual international
conference on computer graphics and applications. The past conferences
were held in Korea (1993, 1995, 1997, 1999), China (1994), Taiwan
(1996), Singapore (1998) and Hong Kong (2000).  Since the institution
of PG, it has provided opportunities for researchers, developers, and
practitioners to present and discuss problems, solutions, and
technology on the frontier of the computer graphics. PG is recognized
as one of the most important conferences on computer graphics today.

CONFERENCE TOPICS

PG 2001 solicits high quality papers for presentation describing
original research results in computer graphics. The conference topics
include, but are not limited to:
 Computer Graphics Systems
 Geometric Modeling and Algorithms
 Rendering Techniques and Illumination Computation
 Volume Graphics
 Human Computer Interface
 Computer Animation
 Virtual Reality
 Scientific Visualization
 Computer Graphics in Arts, Education, Engineering, Entertainment and Medicine

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Full paper in English containing original and unpublished results are
solicited. The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE
Computer Society Press.

The maximum length of a paper is 20 double-spaced pages. The cover
page of a paper should include a title, an abstract, keywords,
author's name, and affiliations. A contact author's email address,
mailing address, phone number and fax number must be also specified in
the cover page.

To submit a paper, an electronic file of the paper must be transmitted
to the conference secretariat via the Internet by April 30,
2001. Acceptable file formats for paper submission are Postscript,
PDF, RTF, and MS Word. IEEE CS Press requires that the camera-ready
version of an accepted paper be in Postscript.

The file transmission method will be notified on the conference home
page http://www.cim.pe.u-tokyo.ac.jp/pg2001. In addition the
information on the cover page in a plain text file must be submitted
by email to pg2001 at cim.pe.u-tokyo.ac.jp by April 30, 2001.

Please also check the conference webpage for information about the
procedure of submitting traditional items like video tapes and color
photos.

JOURNAL REPUBLICATION (tentative)

All the papers will be reviewed by international program
committee. Extended versions of papers of outstanding quality
that have been presented at PG 2001 will be selected for publication
in journals of "Graphical Models" and "Computer Graphics Forum".
