ISPE/CE2001, Concurrent Engineering: Research and Applications, is a
major forum for the international
scientific exchange of multi-disciplinary and inter-organizational
aspects of concurrent engineering (CE).
The focus is on the use of integrated enterprise processes,
collaborative work, information sharing,
co-locating resources, and integrated frameworks and tools. This
conference addresses research and
applications issues of CE. This information is available at Web page:

CE2001 is sponsored by International Journal of Concurrent Engineering:
Research & Applications (CERA
Journal), the International Society for Productivity Enhancement (ISPE).

CE2001 is hosted by CERA

Submissions are invited on substantial, original and previously
unpublished research in all life-cycle areas

CE and the Environment:
Implementation of ecodesign in CE,  including comparative research; case

studies; organisational aspects
of implementation within a company and its supply chain; studies of

development and use of tools to
support ecodesign work. Future directions for ecodesign within CE. Other

topics include Life cycle
engineering, environmentally conscious manufacturing, life-cycle cost
and quality.

Submission and Timetable:

Authors should submit a full draft paper or extended abstract, not
exceeding 7 single spaced pages,
directly to the Session Chairs. If a paper does not fall within the
specified sessions, it should be
submitted to the Conference Program Chair.

Expression of Interest: NOW

Submission of draft paper to session chairs: January 1, 2001

Notification of acceptance: March 30, 2001

Final camera-ready paper submission to session chairs: April 30, 2001

Conference: July 29-August 1, 2001

Conference Proceedings:

Conference Proceedings for CE2001 will be published both in CD-ROM and
will be accessible
electronically over the worldwide web. Only the abstracts of the
accepted paper will be printed in
hard-copy proceeding. The full papers and entire conference proceedings
will also be made available
electronically for download or purchase by Technomic Publishing
Corporation as a part of a CE series
entitled " Advances in CE " with official congress catalog (ISSN)
number.

Journal Publication and Best Paper Award:

Selected expanded papers will be reviewed for inclusion in a special
issue of the international journal,
Concurrent Engineering: Research and Application (CERA). Each year
during the annual dinner, best
paper award and Best Student Paper Award are given to authors of the
papers judged best in five CE
categories: quality, content, originality, relevancy and long-time
research and application values. For
