Hi,
You mean from from disk_config or somewhere else? Installer never gets that far.
Last thing what is working on installer is that menu where to select "start standalone installer or rescue mode etc."
I believe it's some sort of usb driver issue and not only about FAI.
* Ubuntu 24.04.3 Desktop native installer has this issue also.
* Ubuntu 24.04.3 Server native installer works
* Debian 13 Native installer works
* Debian 13 FAI image burned to DVD and started from SATA-DVD drive works.
Because Ubuntu 24.04 is officially supported by Supermicro they are also investigating issue but i haven't got any answers from them yet.

Subject: Set partition type explicity in setuup-storage
Hello,
is it possible to set a partition type (NOT the partition table type)
explicitly with setup-storage? This is, as they are called in fdisk, a
partiton type like
Linux filesystem
Linux swap
EFI System
BIOS boot
etc.
for GPT partition tables?
Regards
Christoph
