The new FAI release 6.4 comes with some nice new features.
It now supports installing the Xfce edition of Linux Mint
22.1 'Xia'. There's also a new ISO [1] which does the unattended Linux
Mint installation via FAI and does not need a network connection
because all packages are available on the ISO.
The package_config configurations now support arbitrary boolean
expressions with FAI classes like this:
PACKAGES install UBUNTU && XORG && ! MINT
If you use the command ifclass in customization scripts you can now
also use these expressions.
The tool fai-kvm for starting a KVM virtual machine will use UEFI
variables if the VM is started with an UEFI environment, so boot
settings will be saved during a reboot.
For the installation of Rocky Linux and Almalinux in an UEFI
environment some configuration files were added.
New ISO images are available [2] but it may take a couple of weeks
until the FAIme service [3] supports Linux Mint and the new FAI version.
