But ... I'm apparently getting the wrong disklist.
Here's what was in the $LOGDIR and uploaded:

root at bee-s:/tmp/fai# cat additional.var
mac_eth0=...
mac_eth1=...
mac_eth2=...
disklist="/dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:06:00.0-ata-1.0 /dev/disk/by-path/pci-0000:06:00.0-ata-2.0"
root at bee-s:/tmp/fai# grep disklist variables.log
disklist='nvme0n1 nvme1n1 nvme2n1 nvme3n1 nvme4n1 sda sdaa sdab sdac ...'
root at bee-s:/tmp/fai# cat /proc/mdstat

I had written to additional.var in a partition.* hook, is this too late?
Do I have to do this in a class/* script? Hm...
