Boot Problem with USB Stick.

Hi,

if I generate a USB Stick like this
After dd if=faime.xxxx of=/dev/sdb
I must add the following command. Because no partition is set active.
parted /dev/sdb set 1 boot on

Is this normal or a BIOS problem or a FAI-CD problem?
