early stage rpcbind failure

Right after dracut successfully mounts the root filesystem from the server

I get an infinite series of error messages related to rpcbind and mkdir

which I'm unable to fix:

dracut: Mounted root filesystem 192.168.1.1:/srv/fai/nfsroot

rpcbind: rpcbind terminating on signal. Restart with "rpcbind -w"

rpcbind: cannot open file = /run/rpcbind/rpcbind.xdr for writing

...

mkdir: cannot create directory '/var/lib/discover': Read-only file system

...

Obviously FAI fails completely and I'm unable to install any new node.

I'm running the latest version of FAI (5.1.2) on a debian 8.5 system.

I did not have this issue before on the very same system, thus all must

have started after one of the most recent updates of debian OS, which I

usually apply every month or so (FAI packages included).
