I've found the issue after checking the policy of the package in the nfsroot

When using the grml kernel on

http://faiwiki.informatik.uni-koeln.de/index.php/Grml_Kernel

Using

APT::Default-Release "stable";

causes the package not to be pulled in.

Hope this helps someone...
