fai AMD64 installation into VMWare

Hi,

we begin to use the great fai-cd at the Uniklinik Freiburg and are 
testing the installations within VMWare. Surprisingly, fai installs a 32 
bit environment (i386) even if I setup VMWare to host a 64bit 2.6.x 
kernel, using the virtualisation of my IntelCore2 6300 CPU.
Is it possible that the fai-cd does not detect AMD64 correctly, or could 
this be an issue with VMWare? Can I force fai to install the AMD64 
architecture?
