Hi all,
I am trying to compile a Linux Kernel 2.6.22 using a nfsroot but I am
getting this message during boot
..
e100: Intel(R) PRO/100 Network Driver, 3.5.17-k4-NAPI
...
Initializing XFRM netlink socket
NET:Registered protocol family 1
NET:Registered protocol family 17
...
IP-Config: No network devices available.
...
Looking up port of RPC 100003/2 on xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
...
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on
unknown-block(2,0)
I have my old compiled kernel version 2.6.11 which is working fine. By
observing difference between the dmsgs. I found that my 2.6.22 kernel is not
making a DHCP request. before attempting to do VFS.
the depends for nfsroot IP_PNP, IP_PNP_DHCP and NFS_ROOT are set properly.
Here are is .config section for Network configuration
