script failed but no error message

Hi,
I have the strange effect that I have FAI reporting a script failed,
but I can't see any error and no error message, shell.log:

=====   shell: LAST/50-misc   =====
Running "apt-get -f install" for the last time.
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
LAST/50-misc         FAILED with exit code 1.

Before I go the long way, uncommenting line by line of the script and
doing an install again an again until I find the bad line, does
anybody have an idea which command could be failing in 50-misc without
any error message?

BTW, this is FAI 2.10.5 - I am working on using the mechanisms used in
fai-multidistribution, but only using hooks and not changing the FAI
code itself, to install etch from a sarge server to get testing
installed from a stable server, for testing purposes.
