GRUB, FAI, and RAID1

Hi all,

I'm currently using FAI 2.8.4 from 25 May 2005 ( I know it's old, but
our installtion is too customized to easily upgrade).

I'm trying to install to a RAID1 set using FAI.  Everything goes
extremely well until the reboot, where GRUB seems to not be able to
boot the system correctly.  When the system reboots, I get:

GRUB GRUB _

then it just hangs.  I checked /tmp/target/boot/grub right before
booting, and the only files in there were device.map and menu.lst.
There were no stage files at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
