quick V40z question

Hi all,

just to answer the question myself:

Apparently there is a difference between the V40z and the V20z NICs.

But the problem was pure PEBKAC: the nfsd was debian stable, the libs were
testing. I wonder what made the V20z booting and everything else. After i synced
the versions, everything went fine. I booted he "official amd64 kernel" from
http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/download/amd64/ as well as costom kernels.

So I can make a rather neat FAI annoncement: Another FAI cluster is up and
running. My System now consists of just 3 Boxes, but when we will move in our new
building in Summer, we'll get another 25-35 Boxes which will form an pure VX0z
cluster running 2.4.27 openmosix in which the nodes will be connected via
infiniband.

FAI is really neat, I am so glad now to be back to FAI after fiddling around von
Suses autoyast. Thanks to Thomas! Opensource is great!

But I thing I do miss: Autoyast stores config data in a single xml File which be
be edited which any xml tool. I found I nice with xemacs. Has something like that
already been discussed here?

kinds regard to everyone,
Oliver Osburg
