Hi,
some days ago I reported XFS-related problems on this list: if I use the
prebuilt fai-kernels_1.8 2.6.8 kernel, my machines choke when FAI tries
to mount XFS file systems.
(modprobe oopses when trying to load xfs.ko - and then hangs.)
For installations, I have overcome this situation by using two hooks,
one to mountdisks (which commments out xfs entries from the fstab that
has been created by partition) and the other one to configure (to revert
this modification).
I had to run sysinfo today, and I found that I would better rename
xfs.ko to make it unloadable. That's still a bad hack, but at least it
allows to run the full sysinfo suite (minus XFS mounts of course)
without a single problem.
Since my second FAI server is being repaired at the moment, and I cannot
risk too much (the FAI server I use is fileserver to >180 cluster nodes
at the same time), I cannot try to reproduce the problem with a fresh
setup. But I promise I'll do - I will have to setup the repaired box,
using FAI of course, so it will automatically get the newest and
greatest - and perhaps the problem will be fixed by then?
Cheers,
Steffen
