Hi,
from http://www.informatik.Uni-Koeln.DE/fai/
NEWS: You can install your Opteron with an amd64 system system using
FAI. A fai-kernel and a tarball of the nfsroot is available.
from http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/download/amd64/
These are the files you need for installing a AMD64 host with FAI.
THIS IS BETA SOFTWARE !!!
Install fai_2.5.5_all.deb (a beta version)
Extract the tarball, which is a AMD64 nfsroot.
Copy nfsroot/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7-fai to /boot/fai an use fai-chboot(8)
to boot this kernel. The default pxelinux.0 image from i386 from sarge
shoul also work, but here also the (more recent?) version from the
amd64 package.
Also read "The Debian GNU/Linux AMD64 HOWTO"
http://alioth.debian.org/docman/view.php/1314/21/debian-amd64-howto.html
There you find all info how to define the AMD64 mirror in the file
sources.list
Edit inside this nfsrot the files etc/hosts, etc/fai/* to meet your
local needs
Use the new 06hwdetect.source.
You can also install all these files on a i386 or any other
architecture.
