Hi,
I am just in the process of setting up an fai server. As a filesystem for
my clients I want to use SGIs XFS.
I am using this disk config:
=== cut ===
disk_config hda
primary /boot 100 ;xfs
primary - 10000
logical / 1000 ;xfs
logical swap 1024 ;xfs
logical /var 2000 ;xfs
logical /tmp 1000 ;xfs
logical /usr 10000 ;xfs
logical /opt 10000 ;xfs
logical /cdtemp 2500 ;xfs
logical /.hostpart 0- ;xfs
=== cut ===
I have no problems to install my client, however after rebooting, the
filesystem on partiton hda5 (containing /) is always destroyed.
It is even getting worse. After the installation finished, I start a shell
with ctrl-c. Then I unmount all partitions of the fresh installed client
(there is data on all partitons.
I have no problems to mount them again, only hda5 is destroyed.
Running xfs_repair I noticed, that the first superblock of this partition
seems to be destroyed. Okay, I could now run xfs_repair on every install,
however this is not the preferred solution for me ;)
I am using fai 2.5.3 and kernel 2.4.24 with xfs-support (build on my own),
and tried this one time with xfsprogs from woody (2.0.x) and the other
time with xfsprogs from backports.org (2.6.0). The error occures with both
versions.
I looked around in setup_harddisks, but could not find any clue, what is
going wrong there.
Has someone else seen this problem, or is someone else here, who has no
problems with xfs and fai?
