Tools for a beowulf cluster

I have some questions and advise for you. The beowulf cluster that I 
built for my university used FAI. During the following year my friend 
and I made some beowulf tools to help with the automation, these are 
very debian-centric.

What are other tools the people have created? Among some of the tools 
are scripts to generate /etc/hosts, known-hosts, dhcpd, etc. They're 
very simple scripts. I've started an open source project called 
frinkiac-7. Please give me feedback.
