Which FAI version are you using? Try to build a new bootfloppy using
some additional: 

# make-fai-bootfloppy "FAI_FLAGS=verbose,sshd,createvt FAI_ACTION=install"

Then you can log in from remote or get a shell by typing ctrl-c.
You can ignore the error message from modprobe.
