setup_harddisks

Hello,
I'm setting up fai here to install a lab of about 30 machines. My install (from a bootfloppy) is currently hanging whilst running setup_harddisks. 
I get 
modprobe: Can'l locate module block-major_105
...
Error no config file found
Error /tmp/fai/disk_var.sh not found.

Unfortunately ctrl-c reboots rather than gives a shell so I can't check the logs.

My keyboard is set to us-latin-1 in DEFAULT.var.
