back again, i tried now to boot with bootp and it loads the right
kernelimage (installimage_3com) but i get the following errormessage

Uncompressing Linux...

invalid compressed format (err=1)

imggen is installimage_3com shows:

Image type: Standard kernel
Already MBA compatible.
No action required.

Its the default 2.4.18 kernel from the fai-kernels package
