I would say "yes" to that question; they do know that FAI exists.  I
haven't played with the new debian-installer yet, but I'm quite excited
about it.  With the advent of udeb's and the modular design of
debian-installer, I'm pretty excited.

Yet, it may stray away from what Tom is using FAI for, which seems to be
a unified installer for Debian and Solaris.  I don't know if you've
given up on that, Tom, or not.

Regardless, the future of Debian installations is looking brighter each
day. ;-)
