Not enough free space in /var

Hello,

during the packages installation, I have the following error:
"Sorry, you don't have enough free space in /var/cache/apt/archives to
hold all the .debs"

The '/var' used is it from '/nfsroot' or from '/tmp/target' ?
In the first case, how is it possible to grow up the '/var' partition
