Because many people needs FAI urgently, I've put a first deb file to

http://www.informatik.uni-koeln.de/fai/beta/fai_1.1-alpha-1.deb

you can install fai on a potato system with dpkg -i fai_1.1-alpha-1.deb

THIS IS NOT A RELEASE ! The version numbering may be change in future.

Status:

Currently I'm testing fai a little bit, but most things are running
fine. I'm reading many manual how to become a Debian package
maintainer, in order to make fai a real debian package. This is a lot
of work. After that a new documentation will be written. I think the
directory layout is good and should only be changed if is violates
FHS.

There are configuration templates, that are copied to
/usr/local/share/fai. This is where your configuration is located now.

Please test it and send bugs reports or comments to the mailling list.

There's a big problem with libpaperg_1.0.3-12.2.deb which breaks fai
installation. So I copied /dev/null to libpaperg_1.0.3-12.2 on my
local mirror, so that libpaperg will not be installed.

New features: look at the file NEWS.

I hope, I've help you with this quick hack !
