Pillers künstlerische Arbeit basiert auf dem Sammeln
von Bildmaterial, das er im weiteren Verlauf
kategorisiert, archiviert und in Serien
zusammenstellt. Sein Blick richtet sich dabei auf
Details und wiederkehrende Muster. Seit 1998 hat der
Künstler auf diese Weise ein über einhundert
Themengebiete umfassendes Archiv zusammengetragen.
Hauptquelle für die Bildfunde sind deutsche
Regionalzeitungen. </span></div>

In der Montage der Einzelfotos zur Serie entsteht
eine Ikonografie des Alltags, die manche Absurdität
mit Humor vor Augen führt. </span></div>

Jahr 2005 erwarb die Initiative „Junger Ankauf“ der
Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst zwei Arbeiten aus
Peter Pillers Projekt „Von Erde schöner“
(2003-2004). Der Künstler wird zunächst seine
Arbeiten aus den letzten Jahren vorstellen. Im
anschließenden Gespräch werden Peter Piller und Dr.
Barbara Engelbach auf verschiedene Aspekte seines
Schaffens näher eingehen.</span></div>
